
Representatives of Vervo Group attend the conference organized by Virši and Scania at Sports Complex 333
On Thursday, September 12th, the conference "The Future and Development of the Transport Industry" took place at Sports Complex 333, organized by the companies Virši and Scania. The conference was attended by Vervo Group co-owner Māris Dreimanis and other representatives of Vervo Auto.
The conference featured insights shared by Jānis Vība, Chairman of the Board of Virši, Kristīne Veģere, Member of the Board of the Latvian Biogas Association, Aija Timofejeva, Director of the Energy Sustainability Department at the Ministry of Climate and Energy (KEM), and Ilze Bukaldere, Head of Scania Finance in the Baltics.
The conference covered topics such as the challenges and opportunities of decarbonizing the transport industry, the development of environmentally friendly natural gas in the transport sector, greening the transport sector and utilizing local resources, sustainable financing and support for companies, as well as other topics relevant to environmental improvement.
After the discussion on the possibilities and potential challenges of greening the transport industry, the new generation Scania CNG truck was presented, which emits 80% less CO2 when fueled with biogas CBG.
After the conference, participants had the opportunity to experience an adrenaline rush during a rally ride with drivers Matīss Mežaks, Artūrs Priednieks, and Ivars Vasaraudzis, as well as take part in go-karting and a test drive of the new Scania CNG truck.
